Former Hurricanes midfielder Beverly Goebel was a third-round (27th overall) selection by the Washington Freedom in the 2010 Women's Professional Soccer Draft last Friday.Goebel started 51 of 53 games and was Miami's team captain in 2009. She scored the game-winning goal in an October victory over eventual national champion North Carolina.
