Hurricanes sophomore quarterback Jacory Harris will have a routine surgical procedure performed on his right thumb today. Supposedly the surgery is very minor, and Harris is expected to miss a portion of spring practice. Harris completed 242-of-406 passes for 3,352 yards and 24 touchdowns in 13 games for the Hurricanes this season. He became the seventh Miami quarterback to throw for 3,000 yards in a single season. He completed 59.6 percent of his passes and had a 140.1 passing efficiency.
